First-Ever Sikh Environment Day & Turban Day Celebration at Capilano University

North Vancouver, B.C. — Capilano University proudly marked a milestone on campus as the School of Thoughts Club hosted the university’s first-ever joint celebration of World Sikh Environment Day and International Sikh Turban Day. Held at the Capilano Students’ Union Library Lounge, the event drew over 250 attendees, including students, faculty, and community members, and was supported by more than 35 dedicated volunteers.

The celebration paid tribute to the teachings of Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, emphasizing the deep connection between humanity and nature. The event served as both a cultural and educational gathering aimed at raising awareness about environmental stewardship and Sikh identity.
